How to Send Bitcoin from Coinbase to Ledger Nano S or X [Updated]

bitcoin from coinbase to ledger nano s

Today I am going to show you how to send Bitcoin from Coinbase to Ledger Nano S or X hardware wallet, or some other place say another exchange or paper wallet. If you own a hardware wallet then it’s strongly recommended that you move your coins to Ledger Nano ASAP.

After buying Ledger Nano S, X, or Blue hardware wallet, you should transfer bitcoin from your exchange to Ledger wallet as soon as possible. If you’ve bought your bitcoins from Coinbase, a prominent Bitcoin exchange, and now you want to move your coins somewhere else for example to hardware wallet then you can do so by following the instructions given in this tutorial.

For your information, Coinbase is one of the best cryptocurrency exchanges across the world, but it’s not suitable for HODLing Bitcoin because of security concerns.

There is no doubt that this exchange is one of the safest exchanges out there but we can’t deny the fact that it’s vulnerable to security breaches. Therefore, for long term holding, paper wallet, software wallet, and hardware wallet are the best solutions.

If you want to store your bitcoin in a place where you can easily use them for day to day transactions then hardware wallet is a best option for you.

A hardware wallet stores your private keys safely and lets you make transactions without exposing your private keys to the internet. And ability to store multiple coins at the same time makes cryptocurrency wallets stand out of the queue.

  2. Hi.
When I try to send from coinbase, I do not get a field to input the address linked to my ledger. I only get a field that says ‘input e-mail address’. Does this mean that I can only send from coinbase to another coinbase account? Or is there a way to get around this so that I can transfer everything to ledger. My country is Mexico (the options come in spanish).

  3. When you check transaction detail using Block Explorer, try to find how many network confirmations it got. To get your BTC credited to your account, it requires at least one network confirmation.

  4. Hello,
I’ve recently withdrawn some 0.000xxx bitcoin from my Kraken exchange account into my Ledger Nano S wallet following exactly the procedures
(I’ve also doule checked twice the address the wallet gave me where to send the btc) but I am missing that amount from my wallet balance and I have no idea how to manage this issue and where to recover my bitcoin from.
Plugging in the address into an explorer I can see the transaction but I don’t know how to read it.
Is there any tutorial I can find to help me solve this problem?
Is there any way to check my real balance ?
    What did I do wrong?
    Are my btc lost???

It is the third time I’ve done a withdraw transaction into my Ledger NANO S wallet and everything went fine with the first two times.

I would be evr y grateful for any help

Thanks in advance for your support.
